Isn't it odd how people are always so concerned with certain issues (gay marriage, obscenity in the media, sex, drugs, proper child-care, etc.) but now necessarily with how these things affect them, rather how the effects of what they believe to be the inappropriate manner of handling each will have on society? Whether this interpretation violates some comprehension of certain truths or values they hold dear; straying from this path leads to corruption in others, oh god! We must stop this! Clearly I know best, clearly I'm a model citizen, I must save humanity! But it's funny, because the people they are trying to help, don't give a fuck about them, they are more concerned with their own neuroses (and not letting them show) and their own lives and frankly they just don't know one another. Of course, the problem is that sometimes narrow-minded people unite and mobilize and thus we have the conservative community. What makes your ideas so valid and in need of sharing? Who are you trying to help? Who are you trying to control? A random blank pallet? Trust me, not all people are as susceptible as you would believe. Yep, people love to influence or take control of those they do not know. But the best way to do that would likely be being kind to strangers, instead of seeking to regulate what is acceptable for them or what is not. I mean, think about it rationally, on an average day, walking down the street, you do not care about the person passing you. People being dicks to one another is what fucks us up, not necessarily issues that usually do not concern us personally. But when an issue does, why is it up to you to make it of concern to the community, typically in a socially regressive way? You should not be panicked over what will influence someone else, because let's get real, you don't give a fuck about them anyway.
